Summary

The Town of Milton is seeking a full-time Arborist to join their Community Services, Facility, Operations & Environment Division. This unionized position reports to the Supervisor, Operations - Forestry and is responsible for the care, maintenance, and preservation of trees on municipal property. The Arborist will ensure the health and safety of the Town’s urban forest through skilled tree work, inspections, and preventative maintenance, while also providing guidance and training to other staff. Key responsibilities include performing skilled tree maintenance, conducting tree risk assessments, operating specialized equipment, and advising the public on tree care. During winter months, the role also involves snow plowing and ice rink maintenance. The position requires a minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, or Horticulture, an ISA Certified Arborist® designation, and two years of experience in arboriculture. A valid D Driver’s License with Z endorsement is also necessary.
