Facility Building Attendant
Summary
The Region of Waterloo is seeking a Facility Building Attendant to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and accessibility of various corporate facilities and sites, including social housing, shelters, libraries, and transit buildings. This role involves performing general maintenance and minor repairs to building interiors and exteriors, such as patching walls, painting, replacing light bulbs and ceiling tiles, and ensuring doors and locking systems function properly. The attendant will also be responsible for waste and recycling collection, groundskeeping, and assisting contractors with snow removal. Key duties include responding to vandalism and emergencies, maintaining life safety systems, and documenting daily activities in a work management system. The position requires a Grade 12 education, two years of related experience, knowledge of building maintenance techniques, and the ability to comply with relevant legislation. Strong communication and human relations skills are essential for interacting with tenants, contractors, and colleagues. A valid G driver's license and acceptable driving record are also required.
