Itinerant Child and Youth Care Worker
Summary
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is seeking an Itinerant Child and Youth Care Worker to support students with special needs across the region. The successful candidate will collaborate with special education teachers and school administrators to develop and implement programs tailored to student needs. Key responsibilities include developing crisis management plans, maintaining records, supervising students, and implementing proactive strategies to de-escalate negative behaviours. This role is an active member of the Collaborative Team and will attend meetings and case conferences as required. Applicants must possess a three-year Child and Youth Care Worker college diploma and have one to two years of relevant work experience. While not mandatory, certifications in Behavioural Management System (BMS), Prevention & Management of Aggressive Behaviour (PMAB), and First Aid are considered assets. Experience supporting students with autism is also preferred. The position requires travel throughout the Waterloo Region, so a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario driver's license are beneficial.
