System Chaplain
Summary
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is seeking a System Chaplain (1.0 FTE) to serve its Kindergarten to Grade 12 community. This role involves providing spiritual, pastoral, and faith formation leadership across elementary and secondary schools. The System Chaplain will collaborate with students, staff, parents, and community partners to foster Catholic identity and student discipleship. Key responsibilities include supporting retreats, liturgical celebrations, sacramental preparation, and faith formation opportunities. The successful candidate will offer pastoral, ethical, doctrinal, liturgical, and theological leadership, assist during times of crisis, and promote home-school-parish partnerships. The position requires a Master's degree in a relevant field, a certificate in pastoral or youth ministry, experience with youth, and strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills. A valid driver's license and the ability to liaise with parish priests are also necessary.
