Director of Engineering
Summary
Enova Power Corp. is seeking a Director of Engineering to join their Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Vice President Grid Transformation & Chief Distribution Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and direction of the utility's infrastructure expansion and sustainment programs. This includes overseeing overhead and underground distribution systems, GIS, Asset Management, and Supply Planning, while ensuring system design and construction comply with all applicable regulations and engineering principles. The Director will lead the Engineering department, aligning its activities with the corporation's vision and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include developing capital investment plans, preparing and managing operating and capital budgets, and providing technical expertise to analyze complex problems. This role also involves managing departmental staff, including hiring, performance management, and training, as well as administering the Collective Agreement and participating in labour relations. Promoting a culture of health, safety, and loss prevention is a critical aspect of the position. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent, a Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license, and a valid Class G Driver's License. A minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively responsible roles within an electrical utility, covering planning, design, construction, and operations, is required. The role demands expert knowledge of distribution systems and asset management, along with advanced knowledge of regulatory frameworks like Distribution System Planning (DSP) and relevant health and safety requirements.
