Summary
The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is seeking a Long-Term Occasional (LTO) After School Support employee to work part-time, 12.5 hours per week. This role involves supporting play-based programming for junior kindergarten to grade 6 students registered in the WRDSB's Before and After School Program. The After School Support employee will work alongside a Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) to provide general student supervision, encourage positive interactions, support children's exploration and development, and foster inclusive learning environments. Key responsibilities include following DECE guidance, supporting children's self-regulation and inquiry, fostering parent communication, and adhering to licensing requirements under the Child Care and Early Years Act. A high school diploma and prior experience supervising children are required. Conditions of employment include a valid Standard First Aid with CPR Level C/AED or willingness to obtain it, and a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
