Crossing Guard
Summary
The Township of Puslinch is seeking a Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of children and pedestrians at street crossings near schools. This permanent, part-time role operates for 10 months of the year, supporting morning and afternoon hours from September to June. Responsibilities include safely assisting pedestrians, monitoring and controlling traffic, directing vehicles with signals and stop signs, and communicating safety protocols to drivers, children, and parents. The position requires vigilance, adherence to traffic laws, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions and potential emergencies. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and previous experience working with children or in a similar role is beneficial.
