Head Instructor Guard
Summary
The City of Cambridge is seeking a Head Instructor Guard to ensure the safe and effective supervision of the pool and surrounding areas during fitness and recreational swims. This role involves direct accountability for pool activities and programs, including staff development, performance appraisals, and instruction of swim classes. The Head Instructor Guard will also be responsible for participant screening, progress tracking, and maintaining a preventative approach to safety, including performing rescues and administering first aid as needed. Key duties include daily facility and equipment checks, pool testing, opening and closing procedures, and completing end-of-shift reports. The position also involves administrative functions such as recommending aquatic policies, reporting statistics, and developing lesson plans. The ideal candidate will have two years of experience in aquatics and staff/facility supervision, along with specific certifications such as National Lifeguard - Pool, Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, and Intermediate First Aid/Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED.
