Summary
Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for their Renal Clinic, with an approximate end date of October 2027. This role focuses on the early management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), including identification, prevention, and patient self-care. Responsibilities involve patient screening, preparation, and promotion of independent modalities, in collaboration with nephrologists, allied health teams, and other CKD clinic nurses. The ideal candidate will possess current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, a minimum of 3 years of full-time equivalent acute nursing experience (nephrology/CKD experience preferred), and a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Experience in Hemodialysis or Peritoneal Dialysis, completion of a health assessment course, and strong skills in patient education, health promotion, and chronic disease management are also preferred. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Renal Insight and Cerner, along with effective communication, organizational, and emergency response skills are essential. The position requires a responsible and energetic individual with good attendance and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
