Associate City Solicitor

Summary

The City of Kitchener is seeking a temporary full-time Associate City Solicitor for approximately 12 months. This role will provide legal advice and services to Council and staff, with a primary focus on development-related and business agreements, by-laws, and dog designation matters. The position involves preparing various agreements, advising on by-laws, representing the City at hearings, and supporting prosecutions if necessary. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D), be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, and possess a minimum of 2 years of related legal experience in municipal law or a similar field. Preference will be given to those with prior municipal sector experience.
