Educational Assistant

Summary

The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is seeking a Permanent Educational Assistant for St. Stephen's School. This full-time, 35-hour per week, 10-month position requires the successful completion of a post-secondary educational assistant program (normally one year) or equivalent, along with at least one year of experience working with children. The role involves assisting special needs students in individual and group settings, supporting their transition to school, aiding in lesson delivery and implementation of Individualized Education Plans, and assisting with behavior management and personal care needs. Key responsibilities include creating teaching materials, observing and reporting on student development, assisting with feeding and toileting, maintaining classroom routines, and supporting field trips. The position also involves general classroom tasks and other assigned duties. Preference will be given to individuals in the casual Educational Assistant pool.
