Summary

Woodstock Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Pediatrician to join their Department of Pediatrics. This role involves diagnosing and treating conditions in young patients from newborn through adolescence and young adults, monitoring growth and development, managing medical history, and treating illnesses and injuries. The Pediatrician will also advise parents on health and nutrition, perform diagnostic tests, and administer vaccines. Key responsibilities include participating in call schedules for inpatient coverage, attending high-risk deliveries, consulting with the emergency department, overseeing an outpatient pediatric acute referral clinic, and managing the community pediatric practice. The position may involve supervising medical students and pediatric residents, with eligibility for an affiliated academic title. Candidates must hold a license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (or be eligible), be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with specialty certification (or eligible), and possess Neonatal Resuscitation Program qualifications. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or willingness to obtain it is also required, along with evidence of ongoing continued medical education. A commitment to a multidisciplinary team approach, strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. A special interest in neonatology is considered beneficial.
