Engineering Technologist
Summary
Oakville Hydro is seeking a dynamic Engineering Technologist to join their team. This role is responsible for the design, planning, estimation, and preparation of project documentation for electrical distribution projects, including overhead and underground systems, streetlights, and new service designs. The position involves preparing technical reports, liaising with various government bodies and developers, and ensuring compliance with installation standards. The ideal candidate will possess a 3-year Engineering Technology diploma or a 4-year Engineering Degree, be registered or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or a Professional Engineer with P.E.O., and have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in distribution system design and project management. Strong knowledge of electrical theory, power system operations, and safety in design is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and a valid Class 'G' Ontario Driver's Licence.
