Skilled Labourer - Public Works

Summary

The City of Woodstock is seeking a Temporary Skilled Labourer for its Public Works department. This role involves a variety of manual labour duties, including working with concrete and sewer crews, assisting with the Vactor Truck, repairing manholes, clearing debris from roads, and applying cold patches. Responsibilities also include operating waste collection vehicles, working at the Enviro Depot, and performing winter control maintenance such as road and sidewalk plowing. Additionally, the position involves traffic maintenance tasks like setting up control measures and repairing signs. Candidates must possess a Class DZ Ontario Driver's License in good standing and be able to work in all weather conditions. A minimum of Grade 10 education or equivalent is required, along with a willingness to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR training. The role is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting and work in dirty conditions. Preferred qualifications include experience with heavy equipment and knowledge of MTO Book 7 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The position may require shift work and overtime.
