Recruitment Consultant
Summary
The City of Stratford is seeking a Recruitment Consultant to lead and oversee the full-cycle recruitment and selection function. This role is critical for ensuring compliant, efficient, and strategic hiring practices that align with legislative requirements, collective agreements, and corporate workforce planning objectives. The consultant will partner with departmental leaders to consistently deliver equitable, defensible, and compliant talent acquisition practices across both unionized and non-unionized employee groups. Key responsibilities include coordinating recruitment activities, providing advice and oversight to hiring managers on full-cycle processes, and developing and formalizing onboarding policies and tools. The role also involves providing strategic guidance on recruitment approaches and talent market conditions, ensuring compliance with employment legislation (e.g., ESA, Human Rights Code, MFIPPA), and continuously improving recruitment policies and tools. The consultant will oversee the Applicant Tracking System, monitor recruitment metrics, participate in complex hires, and support diversity and inclusion strategies. Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive recruitment experience, preferably in a municipal or public sector environment. Strong knowledge of employment-related legislation, collective agreements, and experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., VidCruiter) and HRIS platforms are required. A CHRP/CHRL designation (or working towards it) is considered an asset, alongside proven abilities in structured interviewing, data analysis, communication, and problem-solving.
