User Experience Content Specialist

Summary

The Town of Milton is seeking a User Experience Content Specialist for a 12-month contract position. This role is crucial for the town's digital transformation, focusing on developing and optimizing content for digital tools, services, and platforms. The Specialist will collaborate with various teams, including Communications, IT, and internal divisions, to create plain language, accessible, and user-centered content for applications, online portals, and other digital experiences. Key responsibilities include digital content strategy and development, collaboration with stakeholders, user experience optimization through UX writing and user-centered design principles, and ensuring content adheres to brand standards, accessibility requirements, and digital service guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in digital content development, communications, or UX writing. Experience with web content management systems, a strong understanding of digital content best practices, and knowledge of accessibility standards like AODA are essential. Experience in a public sector or municipal setting is preferred.
