Personal Support Worker

Summary

The Elliott Community is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join their interdisciplinary team in Guelph. The PSW will provide person-centered care to residents, supporting their physical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs within a home-like environment. Key responsibilities include assisting residents with personal hygiene and grooming, supporting mealtimes, engaging residents in activities, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere. The role requires compassion, dignity, and respect for residents, as well as the physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting and transferring. The ideal candidate will possess a PSW Certificate or be enrolled in a Nursing program, with a preference for a Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) to Dementia Care Certificate. A Vulnerable Sector Search Criminal Record check and up-to-date immunization records, including COVID-19 vaccination, are mandatory.
