Hearing Officer
Summary
The Township of Guelph/Eramosa is seeking qualified individuals for a contracted position as a Hearing Officer. This role involves adjudicating appeals related to the Township's Administrative Penalty System (APS) and municipal by-laws. The Hearing Officer acts as an independent adjudicator, reviewing decisions on administrative penalties and issuing final, impartial decisions. The position requires knowledge of municipal law, administrative justice principles, and adjudicative processes, with duties including conducting hearings (virtually or in person) and issuing written decisions. Appointments are made for the current term of Council and are on a contract basis, with no guarantee of a minimum number of hearing days. The Hearing Officer is compensated with a per diem fee based on a full or half day of work.
