Summary
Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) is hiring a part-time Psychologist for its Mental Health and Addictions Program in Kitchener, ON. The successful candidate will work with adults aged 18-65+ in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including the Adult Inpatient Mental Health (AIMH) program and the Short-term Psychiatric Follow-up Clinic. This role involves working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment and stabilization services for individuals with acute mental health symptoms like psychosis, suicidal thinking, and emotional dysregulation. Key responsibilities include evaluating and diagnosing psychological disorders, providing evidence-based psychotherapy, and administering, scoring, and interpreting a wide range of psychological tests. The Psychologist will prepare written clinical assessment summaries, consult with team members and families, and participate in patient and family education. The role may also involve participation in clinical research design and data analysis. Candidates must have a minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology with four years of experience, or a Doctoral degree with a one-year internship. Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario is mandatory. Required experience includes diagnostic assessments with adults experiencing a wide range of mental health disorders. Competence in various therapeutic approaches such as DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed practice is also required. Acute care hospital experience is considered an asset.
