Summary

Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) is seeking a Temporary Full Time Registered Respiratory Therapist for their Respiratory Services department at the WRHN @ Queen’s Blvd location. This role is crucial to the healthcare team, involving services such as ventilator management, airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen and aerosol therapy, arterial line insertion, arterial blood gas procurement, pulmonary diagnostics, and patient assessment. The ideal candidate will possess a General Certificate/Graduate Certificate of Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario without limitations. Required certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support within six months of employment. Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and stress management skills are essential. The role also requires adherence to infection prevention and control standards, practice standards set by the College of Respiratory Therapists and SMGH, and active participation in quality improvement initiatives using LEAN principles. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform duties safely and efficiently. Preferred qualifications include experience in clinical training or adult education, previous critical care respiratory therapy experience, and a commitment to continuing education. Membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and the Respiratory Therapy Society of Ontario is also preferred.
