Program & Event Specialist

Summary

Waterloo Public Library is seeking a creative and community-minded Program & Event Specialist to join their team. This full-time permanent role involves conceptualizing, creating, facilitating, and evaluating library programs and events for all ages, in various formats (in-person, virtual, on/off site). The specialist will also assist in building community partnerships, provide customer service and reader's advisory, support patrons with information and technology, and help with the Summer Reading Club. Candidates should have a post-secondary degree or diploma plus two years of experience in program development and delivery, with preferred education in child development, recreation, or human services. Strong technology literacy, exceptional customer service skills, and flexibility for scheduling and travel are also required. The position offers a competitive salary of $61,880 annually, along with benefits including OMERS pension, paid time off, and professional development support.
