Summary

The Wellington Catholic District School Board is seeking a full-time, permanent Indigenous Social Worker to join their Indigenous Education Team and Mental Health Clinician team. This role focuses on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Youth Engagement and Positive Support, working within schools across the district. The Indigenous Social Worker will act as a mentor, advisor, and clinician, collaborating with school staff and community resources to address academic, mental health, and justice-related barriers for Indigenous students. Key responsibilities include building trusting relationships, providing individual and group interventions, offering evidence-informed mental health treatment, and assessing challenges through an Indigenous lens. The position also involves advocating for youth, leading staff training, collaborating on systemic solutions, and facilitating access to community supports. Applicants must identify as Indigenous and hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, or be working towards completion. Experience with children and youth facing mental health challenges and knowledge of Indigenous worldviews are required.
