Environmental Services VIP Porter

Summary

The Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services VIP Porter to join their team at the WRHN @ Midtown location. This role involves transporting patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to various locations for tests, procedures, and other medical services. The porter will also assist with patient transfers, pick up and deliver specimens, blood products, and equipment, and use a mobile device for task management. Key responsibilities include adhering to infection prevention and control procedures, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and cleaning/disinfecting patient handling equipment. The position also includes floor care duties such as mopping, vacuuming, and machine scrubbing. Candidates must have at least a high school education or equivalent, be fluent in English, and be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting and pushing/pulling patients and equipment. Knowledge of WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act is required. The role emphasizes client service, professionalism, courtesy, and adherence to confidentiality and GRH standards.
