Accountant

Summary

Woodlawn Memorial Park is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage its day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, payroll, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. This role offers a flexible schedule of 24-35 hours per week, with the possibility of tailoring the hours to the candidate's availability. The Accountant will report to the General Manager and be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, budgeting support, audit coordination, payroll processing, and administering trust funds in accordance with Ontario legislation. The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance, several years of progressive accounting experience, and strong knowledge of accounting principles. Proficiency with Sage accounting software and Microsoft Excel is required. A CPA designation or experience in the charitable sector are considered assets, as is experience with specialized industry accounting like prepaid trusts or cemetery funds, though training can be provided.
