310T Truck and Coach Technician (Licensed/Apprentice)
Summary
The City of Guelph is hiring for the position of 310T Truck and Coach Technician, open to both licensed technicians and apprentices, within its Fleet Services Division. Reporting to the Program Manager of Fleet Operations for Transit, the role involves the maintenance, inspection, and repair of all light and heavy Transit vehicles. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and correcting issues with diesel and gasoline engines, automatic transmissions, brakes, and steering systems. Apprentices will work under the guidance of a licensed journeyperson to develop their skills. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 education and five years of experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, though an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates holding a valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician Licence. Strong consideration will also be given to apprentices who have completed Level 2 or 3 of the 310T program with Skilled Trades Ontario. A valid Class 'CZ' driver's licence is required, or the willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe. This position requires availability for afternoon, night, and weekend shifts.
