Aquafit Instructor
Summary
The Town of Milton is seeking an Aquafit Instructor to deliver safe, engaging, and appropriate aquafit programs for participants of all ability levels. Responsibilities include preparing and executing class plans, modifying exercises to suit different fitness levels, establishing positive relationships with participants, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The role also involves proactive communication with facility staff, evaluating and addressing potential risks, and complying with all health and safety standards. This position requires an average of 3-4 hours per week, with flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends. To qualify, candidates must have a secondary school diploma, at least one year of instructing experience, and current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification. A personal training or fitness instructor certification from a recognized organization is required, along with a specific aquafitness instructor certification from CALA, WaterArt, or AQX. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team. A Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required upon employment.
