Roads Operator
Summary
The Township of Wilmot is seeking a Seasonal Roads Operator to perform various road maintenance functions. This role involves operating light and heavy vehicles and equipment, with a primary focus on winter maintenance activities such as snowplowing and sanding. Responsibilities also include seasonal road clean-up, pothole patching, roadside debris removal, and vehicle washing. The operator will conduct regular inspections of roadways, identify maintenance needs, and report them to the Supervisor of Roads Operations. Daily vehicle inspections are required, along with performing routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment. The position requires flexibility with hours, as they vary by season and may include occasional overtime, evening shifts, weekend work, and emergency call-outs. A period of day shifts, after-hours, and weekend emergency callouts may be required, and depending on the weather, Saturday and Sunday day shifts may be necessary to assist full-time staff.
