Teaching Assistant

Summary

The City of Stratford is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a supply/casual position within its Social Services / Daycare department. Reporting to the Manager of Daycare, this role involves assisting in the implementation of child care programs at the Anne Hathaway Daycare Centre for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Key responsibilities include supporting daily activities such as crafts, music, and play; guiding children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits; setting up and cleaning activity areas; and ensuring a safe environment for all children, including those with special needs. Candidates for this position must possess a Secondary School Diploma and have up to one month of related professional experience. A valid First Aid and CPR certification is required. The successful applicant must also be able to meet all screening and immunization requirements as stipulated by the Child Care and Early Years Act.
