HVAC Mechanic

Summary

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) is seeking an HVAC Mechanic for a permanent, full-time position within its Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete maintenance, repair, overhaul, replacement, and installation of a wide range of HVAC equipment across all UGDSB schools and locations. Key duties include servicing electric and gas-fired equipment, pneumatic and electronic controls, and building operation systems like pumps and fans. The role also involves performing annual inspections as part of the preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting HVAC issues, repairing refrigerated equipment, and utilizing Building Automation Systems to optimize energy usage. Applicants must possess a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A), a Gas Fitter 1 License, and an Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Card. The position requires a valid Ontario driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service are essential. Post-secondary technical education, experience with Building Automation Systems, and other relevant trade certificates are considered assets.
