Health Promotion Officer
Summary
The Guelph Community Health Centre is seeking a motivated and organized Health Promotion Officer for an 8-week Canada Summer Jobs contract. This role supports health promotion, social prescribing, and demographic data collection activities, working closely with the Health Promoter as part of an interdisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include facilitating or co-facilitating health promotion programs, assisting with administration and coordination tasks, supporting community program meetings, and performing quality improvement, evaluation, and documentation tasks. The officer will also be responsible for welcoming clients, making reminder calls, and collecting socio-demographic data for electronic medical records. Ideal candidates are self-starters with a strong interest in health equity and community wellbeing, possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational abilities. The position requires a commitment to confidentiality, basic computer skills, and the ability to work with equity-deserving groups in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and asset-based manner.
