Labour Relations Consultant
Summary
The University of Waterloo is seeking a Labour Relations Consultant to provide senior-level expertise in labour relations. This role will advise leaders on complex employee and labour relations matters, support grievance resolution and collective bargaining, and foster constructive labour-management relationships. The consultant will also be responsible for promoting consistent collective agreement and policy administration, managing labour relations case files, and identifying and mitigating institutional risk. The position requires an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field, along with a minimum of four years of related work experience, preferably in a unionized post-secondary environment. Preferred qualifications include formal education in Industrial Relations and a CHRP or CHRL designation. Key skills include strong labour and employee relations expertise, consultation, negotiation, investigation, conflict management, and exceptional interpersonal abilities to build trust and manage high-conflict situations.
