Research Financial Analyst
Summary
The University of Waterloo is seeking a Research Financial Analyst for a temporary, full-time, two-year contract or secondment opportunity. This role is responsible for the financial administration and management of a portfolio of research accounts for specific researchers. Key duties include problem-solving, preparing financial statements, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with sponsor and university financial guidelines. The analyst will serve as the primary contact for researchers and administrators regarding financial advice, communicate with external sponsors, and liaise with various university departments. Responsibilities also encompass setting up new research accounts, managing budgets, approving projects in the InfoEd system, preparing invoices and financial reports, and monitoring outstanding payments. The position also involves closing research accounts, facilitating audits, and providing necessary documentation and support to auditors. A university degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, along with experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and financial analysis, is required. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Unit4, Adobe, and Outlook are also necessary.
