Manager, Financial Operations & Analysis

Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a Manager, Financial Operations & Analysis for a temporary, full-time, 20-month contract or secondment opportunity within Campus Housing - Shared Services. This role provides essential financial management, analysis, and strategic planning support to ensure the financial viability of Campus Housing. The Manager is responsible for the integrity of internal financial records, ensuring all financial data and transactions comply with accounting principles and university policies. Key accountabilities include leadership in strategic planning, fiscal management and control (including budgeting, audits, and financial statements), financial strategy and long-term planning, business management, data analysis and reporting, collaboration with UW Finance and other university units, and staff management. The position requires post-secondary education in a related field, a minimum of seven years of professional experience in financial services, and two years of supervisory experience. Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience with accounting databases and enterprise-level software.
